As the name of the show suggests, Boston Legal is a legal drama that portrays the friendship between middle-aged Alan Shore and mid-70s Denny Crane. Two completely opposite characters who use completely opposite methods to win a case, yet they are best friends.
The show is a continuation of the show The Practice. Alan Shore was a former character in The Practice who moved to Boston to work in the prestigious Crane, Poole & Schmidt litigation firm. This highly prestigious and well-known law firm fights both civil and criminal cases.
