She is best known for her portrayal of the lead role of Jane Villanueva, on The CW romantic drama comedy TV series known as Jane the Virgin, which aired from 2014 to 2019. She received a Golden Globe Award in the year 2015 for her portrayal of Jane. Gina Rodriguez was born on 30 July in the year 1984, in Chicago, Illinois, United States of America (USA), and was raised in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, located on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Her parents are from Puerto Rico and their names are Gino and Magali Rodriguez. She has an older brother and two sisters. She was raised as a Catholic and attended the high school at St. Ignatius College Prep. Miss Bala is an action thriller film of American origin that was released on 1 February 2019. The film is directed by Catherine Hardwicke and written by Gareth Dunnet Alcocer. Awake is a sci-fi thriller film of American origin that is directed by Mark Raso and written by Joseph Raso and Mark Raso. The film is produced by Paul Schiff and stars Gina Rodriguez, Finn Jones, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Barry Pepper, Frances Fisher, Shamier Anderson, and Gil Bellows.
