Ja Rule’s career started with the hip-hop group Cash Money Click. Together they produced a number of songs like “4 My Click” and their debut single “Get Tha Fortune” in 1994. However, his real big break came from 1999 to 2005. During this period, Ja Rule released hit after hit. Born as Jeffrey Bruce Atkins on February 29, 1976, Ja Rule hails from Hollis, the Queens borough of New York City. His parents are Debra and Will. However, his father left when he was very young. Debra, being a healthcare worker, could not spend much time with Atkins and he was raised by his grandparents. Atkins has been raised as a Jehovah’s Witness. Due to the rough neighborhood, Atkins soon began selling drugs before coming into music.
