The manga is created and written by Aka Akasaka and published by Shueisha publishing house under their imprint Young Jump Comics. The manga was published by Miracle Jump from May 2015 to January 2016. The manga was then continued to be published in Weekly Young Jump magazine from 24 March 2016 till the present date. The manga is published in the English language by Viz Media. The serialization of Kaguya Sama began on 19 May in the year 2015. The Kaguya Sama manga currently has 25 volumes. The sequel manga to Kaguya Sama is titled Kaguya Sama: Dojin ban, which is written by Shinta Sakayama and published by Shueisha under their Young Jump Comics imprint. The sequel manga was published from 14 June 2018 to 25 June 2020 and consists of 4 volumes. The spin-off series of Kaguya Sama titled Kaguya Sama o Kataritai was published on 26 July 2018 and is written by G3 Ida and published by Shueisha under their Young Jump Comics imprint which consists of 5 volumes.

The manga was also adapted into an anime television series which is directed by Shinichi Omata and produced by Naoto Nakajima, Taku Funakoshi, Tatsuya Ishikawa, and Toshihiro Maeda. The story of Kaguya Sama is set in the high school division of the elite Shuchin Academy. The president of the student council, Miyuki Shirogane, and the vice president of the student council, Kaguya Shinomiya, get along very well together and seem to be a perfect match for each other. Miyuki Shirogane is extremely intelligent and excels academically and is the top student at the Shuchin Academy. Kaguya Shinomiya comes from a wealthy family who owns the Shinomiya Group which is worth 200 trillion yen. Although they love each other, they are too proud and stubborn and hence are unwilling to confess their feelings for each other. They try to come up with various ways and methods to make each other confess their love.

Kaguya Shinomiya is the vice president of the student council of the elite Shuchin Academy. She comes from a wealthy family that owns the Shinomiya Group. She is known for her intelligence and beauty. Due to her family background, she was taught to be calculating and cold but under that façade, she is a sweet and helpful girl. She uses tricks to make Miyuki confess his love for her as she is too proud to admit her own feelings. The character of Kaguya is voiced by Aoi Koga. Miyuki Shirogane is an academic scholar and always excels in his studies. He is the president of the student council. He is too proud to confess his love to Kaguya for fear of being rejected by her. The character of Miyuki is voiced by Makoto Furukawa. Other supporting characters include Chika Fujiwara, the secretary of the student council. Yu Ishigami is the treasurer of the student council and Ai Hayasaka is Kaguya’s personal assistant and friend.
