What’s Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari about?
The series is all about when spirits from different worlds come to the human world. These spirits can possess the old objects and then can have a physical form. These are commonly called ‘Tsukumogami’. These tsukumogami can either be gentle, and violent or maybe in between these two forms. These can cause destruction. This is why the Saenome clan tries to send the tsukumogami back to their spirit world so that they won’t cause any kind of destruction in the human world.
The main character of the series is Kunato Hyoma who is one of the members of the Saenome clan. But other than the members of this clan, Kunato Hyoma is quite violent as one tsukumogami had killed one of his older siblings in front of him. There arises a tension that would lead to supernatural catastrophes because of the anger of Kunato for these spirits. Kunato’s grandfather thinks of this and sends him to Kyoto to live with an unusual young woman Nagatsuki Botan, who lives with a family like tsukumogami. This is all about the first episode of the series. The viewers won’t find this series that interesting and exciting to keep watching the rest of the episodes because of the annoying character, Kunato Hyoma.
