Kotaro and Akane both are socially awkward students who have never talked to each other despite being on the same track team. Kotaro is the equipment manager of the team and Akane is a runner.

Akane and Kotaro also face challenges in their personal lives. Kotaro is unable to get his work published in magazines and Akane’s track team is not able to win any of the matches. Amidst this, Akane has to move to Chiba for her father’s work. This put a big question mark on their relationship as both of them are uncertain about a long-distance relationship. Kotaro tries to get admission into Akane’s school but is rejected. This makes Akane very anxious. But Kotaro writes a story online where he promises to love Akane for his whole life. When Akane discovers it she leaves a comment asking what happens next.
Luckily for fans who have been rooting for the couple from the very beginning, Akane and Kotaro make their long-distance relationship work. The final episode of the series shows the two of them going to college and moving in together. They even get married and have a beautiful child together.
