Ballroom e Youkoso also known as Welcome to the Ballroom in its English translation is a manga series in the Japanese language which is written by Tomo Takeuchi. Manga refers to graphic novels and comics that originate from the country of Japan. Comics and graphic novels are usually based on a Japanese style that was developed in the 19th century. Manga is also used to refer to Japanese cartoons and illustrations. Tomo Takeuchi has also provided the illustrations for Ballroom e Youkoso.
Welcome to the Ballroom features the typical story of Japanese youth who has no aim or direction in life and has no idea what to do or pursue in life. The protagonist is named Tatara Fujita who, because of an unexpected encounter with someone, is forced to explore and participate in the world of competitive dancing. This series was adapted by Production I.G and was broadcast on TV from July till December in the year 2017. Anime series and cartoons are also wildly popular in western countries. In the North American continent, the manga series is dubbed and released in English by Kodansha Comics.

It was initially broadcast by Production I.G network, which is a Japanese animation and production studio, from July 2017 till December 2017. The first season of Ballroom e Youkoso was recently released across the North American continent in 2021 and became an instant hit in western countries. However, the series has not been definitively canceled nor renewed, therefore it is not possible to know when the season 2 trailer will be released if at all the series is even renewed for a second season.

Ballroom e Youkoso Season 2 Story

Welcome to the Ballroom anime series focuses on its protagonist Tatara Fujita, who is a middle school student in his third year of school, and he has no idea what to pursue in life and has no concrete plans for his future. Tatara has no plans to pursue higher education and has no clear direction in life although he tries to find something that will be of interest to him. Along with the lack of motivation to do anything in life, he is also tormented by school bullies who make fun of him and extort him. An unexpected encounter leads Tatara to be saved from his bullies by a man called Kaname Sengoku, who is a dance instructor and rides the motorcycle. Tatara is coached by Kaname and is enrolled at the Ogasawara Dance Studio where he is taught to dance and eventually thrust into the world of Competitive Ballroom Dancing.
Season 1 consists of 24 episodes that tell the story of Tatara and how he goes from aimless Japanese youth to an experienced dancer. Season 2 plot and storylines have not been revealed since the series has not been canceled nor renewed for a second season. Even though the show is a huge hit among the audience, fans of Ballroom e Youkoso are still unsure if there will be a second season or not.

Ballroom e Youkoso Season 2 Characters
The protagonist of the show is Tatara Fujita who is voiced by Shimba Tsuchiya. Tatara Fujita is a freshman in high school who never had a hobby and has no aim in life nor does he have any plans for the future. He is also bullied by his peers and one day is harassed by some criminals and he runs into the Ogasawara Dance Studio after he is saved by his future dance coach Sengoku. There, he falls in love with dancing.
Kiyoharu Hyodo is another character on the show that is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto. Hyodo is a professional dancer and has been Shizuku’s dance partner for 9 years. The character of Shizuku Hanaoka is voiced by Ayane Sakura. Shizuku is a first-year high school student and she went to the same school as Tatara. The character of Chinatsu Hiyama is voiced by Chinatsu Akasaki who is Tatara’s skilled dance partner.
The character of Kaname Sengoku is voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa, Gaju Akagi is voiced by Kentaro Tomita, Mako Akagi is voiced by Sumire Morohoshi and Masami Kugimiya is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai.
